Practice PopulationEdit

Fanshawe Student Health is actually a combination of both a student health clinic for the college students/staff and a sports medicine clinic. As such the practice population is generally fairly young and healthy although there are definitely some older patients who are referred for problems including arthritis. The split is approximately 50:50 with regards to student health visits and sports medicine consults and followups. This can vary depending on the time of the year, and if you do an elective in the summer you are more likely to get a much higher percentage of sports medicine visits.

As this elective is in London there are no special accommodations needed or provided.

Call requirementsEdit

There are no requirements for call on this elective. If interested in attending sports games and helping out as the 'team doctor' it is most likely possible as the preceptors seem to enjoy letting you get as involved as you want to be!
